DESIGN
The ElitePad 1000 G2 is a tablet giving a complete Windows 8 experience in a size which can be easily taken on the move. This slim tablet with 9.2mm thickness and 1.5 pound weight packs in all the ground breaking features and advanced technologies to give you an optimized experience. Its high quality aluminum chassis does not only offer durability but also adds in the elegance and style. It is one of the best looking business tablets we can find.
DISPLAY
The 10.1-inch IPS display features native pixel-resolution of 1920 x 1200, which is much better than 1280 x 800 resolution which we got in the previous version of Elitepad. Relating its size and resolution we can say that both are perfectly matched and offer you an amazing work experience. The display offers you enough space to easily work on various applications smoothly. The touchscreen panel is so bright that it can easily be viewed even under bright sunlight when using with full brightness plus having a smudge resistant coating it is easier to clean.
PERFORMANCE
Driven by Intel Atom Z3795 processor it offers you a performance which Elitepad 900 failed to give. It gives you an overall improved speed and graphical performance without effecting the energy efficiency. Where previous version had 2GB RAM the newer Elitepad has 4GB RAM, in addition it is also capable of cranking through the full Photoshop CS6 test in 13 minutes 20 seconds. Even though the performance is much improved but still it cannot compete with a bit more expensive devices like Surface Po 3 and Dell Venue 11 Pro.
CONNECTIVITY
The tablet itself does not come with a wide variety of connectivity ports. It comes featuring an SD card slot, headphone jack and a single docking station. But if you want more connectivity options you can get them through SmartJacket accessories. The Elitepad 1000 also offers you various wireless connectivity options including WI-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.
BATTERY
In a Peacekeeper browser-based battery test Elitepad 1000 was capable of running for five hours and 55 minutes which is just a couple of more minutes than Elitepad 900. But considering the fact that the latest model has increased screen resolution and improved graphical performance, the current battery timing is quite satisfactory. Anyhow you can keep the screen’s brightness on 50 percent as it still looks bright and gives you a full day of work. But if you are still not satisfied you can also get a jacket with an extra battery which will give you up to 20 hours according to HP.
CONCLUSION
Offering beefier specs and stunning design the ElitePad 1000 is no doubt a big upgrade from its predecessors. Well, if you are looking for a business tablet that can give you a smooth Windows 8 experience and want to work on Microsoft Office, then HP Elitepad 1000 can be a good choice.
