Most of the Lenovo followers assume this to be a good business laptop, but we will have to figure out some major key points that should elaborate this. With AMD Ryzen 3 processor here, you get to see a little change than most of Lenovo’s models. While Lenovo 81V50004UK keeps itself to a safe place with a combination of well-structured features, we also get to experience a reliable RAM combined with a massive storage.
Let’s find out more in our today’s Lenovo V155 laptop review!
DESIGN & BUILD
Don’t expect a premium feel and fancy look from Lenovo V155 as we don’t get any outbound style in its build. But the simple approach in its style also exhibits a clean and tidy look with a sophisticated feel, so businessmen can like it for their schedule. The body is wrapped with plastic casing and you only get to see a rough aluminium finish on its lid with relatively thinner side bezels. Talking about the hinges we felt rigidness with sharp edges, but it allows 18- degree flat rotation. Although, it isn’t super bendable and you can’t open it naturally with a single hand but it’s also not hard enough with its 180° hinge.
KEYBOARD & CLICKPAD
The keyboard in Lenovo V155 works great for every interaction including responsive keycaps that make it easy to type. The feedback from keyboard is tactile even with a bit of roughness on the surface and provides a good support to type faster. The clickpad along the keyboard is loose on the side but the mouse pointer is agreeably responsive. You can navigate through your fingers with a slight touch as well. Overall the keyboard of this laptop makes this laptop comfortable for business and professional use.
DISPLAY
So, the screen equipped in this laptop is of a relatively broader size i.e. 15.6 inches with a full HD Resolution. With its TN panel, it only seems well enough on paper but in our practical implementation, the viewing angles weren’t comfortable. The IPS panel is neglected here and instead the TN panel is kept, which considerably gives a low contrast ratio. But, many of you can settle for it in this economical price range. It isn’t bad at all for everyday office work or student assignment schedules.
PERFORMANCE
The most interesting feature of this laptop for us is its AMD Ryzen 3 processor, which is assumed to work different than usual Intel processors. We tested the V155 AMD Ryzen 3 laptop on fewer benchmarks and to our expectations, it stood out decently. If you put the necessary load on this laptop, it won’t lag in any certain way and give you a comfortable scenario. There’s no irritation in uploading, managing and surfing several files or applications on it. As this is a mid-level processor, you can’t really expect over-the-top efficiency but it acts sufficiently according to its functionality.
Not to forget, the 256 GB solid state drive storage is paired with 8GB of RAM that helps in faster speed for working on multiple programs altogether. On the GPU side, we get AMD Radeon Vega 3 graphics that produce decent visuals for regular video streaming or games.
BATTERY & CONNECTIVITY
The battery of Lenovo V155 gives an average lasting time staying under 5 hours with 41Wh battery, when the Wi-Fi is kept on. On the comparison list, it is not highly long-lasting but you can rely on it for considerable hours.
In the ports, we almost get every other port to enhance the connectivity but the Type C port isn’t included in Lenovo V155. There is an RJ-45 connector on the side with the usual HDMI connector as well. And, with that you also get two USB Type A , Type B ports along with an audio jack.
VERDICT
In conclusion, this laptop appeared upright overall for business professionals, every day employees and students. The AMD Ryzen 3 copes well with RAM and storage to give you efficient performance and reliable usage. Only the screen was a primary holdback for us, but as far as its price is concerned, it is quite acceptable. You are getting an affordable option with the Lenovo V155 laptop, so you can opt for it according to your suitability.
