We can easily predict that notebooks of next generation will definitely deliver you more power plus they will be slimmer in size, as components continue to shrink and get squeezed up. As a result we will be offered notebooks which will perform those tasks which we can only dream of today.
Processors
We are quite sure of the fact that we won’t be using laptops with a mere single or double core processor in 2015. Experts say that most laptops will have six computational cores, which can increase up to eight. Having six to eight computational cores will make high end simulations and data virtualization possible, plus it will also amplify your gaming.
CPU Bus
A CPU bus is a traffic cop which sends data to the different parts of the computer. However the front side bus of CPU is more likely to be disappeared in 2015, and an integrated controller with more speed will take its place. As a result we will get faster and more convenient distribution of data. Intel has already announced its Nehalem CPU microarchitecture which will feature an integrated memory controller and will eliminate the need of front bus.
Storage
According to Intel Trainor, in future we will be offered more capacity in smaller packages, plus the laptops will be loaded with solid state memory which is lighter, faster and more energy efficient. Currently if we add 64 GB of solid state capacity to our laptop, it will cost us $1000, but in 2015 mainstream notebooks can be outfitted by a 2TB hard disk drive. The smaller and lighter devices will probably have 250GB of flash memory but it will likely to come at a small premium. Intel’s Trainor further informed that a new type of storage will also be added which will boost your performance.
Displays
As cold fluorescent lighting tubes in LCDs have been replaced by sequential red, green and blue LED backlighting, similarly, a new technology will replace today’s current technology. That new technology will offer you more vibrant and brighter images by consuming less power. Most likely organic LEDs will take over and make your world even brighter. 3D displays which will show world as we see it in reality, are also expected but we don’t know whether we will meet this technology in 2015 or not.
