The Huawei Watch GT 2e is a nice addition to the Huawei smartwatch range. Not only it has all the good features of previous models, but it also has whole new fitness-tracking options.
Design
The GT 2e comes with a round face, maintaining a seamless finish while adding the illusion of a bezel. The watch has a single piece of glass that tapers off to the sides, creating a bezel appearance. With a minimal stainless-steel casing, the watch has two rectangular buttons on the right side.
This is a sensible design for an athletic smartwatch, with decently placed buttons. Huawei has made sure that the buttons do not protrude far enough, which ensures they don’t get pressed accidentally. This allows athletes to bend their wrists without worrying about their gadgets.
Display
The Huawei Watch GT 2e has a 1.39-inch round display with a 454 x 454 resolution. The AMOLED panel delivers vibrant colours with densely packed pixels and 2.09 x 1.84 x 0.43 inches dimensions.
Fitness Tracking
The GT 2e watch has 85 custom workout modes for fitness tracking activities, such as rock-climbing, yoga, skateboarding and parkour. It features 15 precise tracking modes for professional sports, in addition to Auto-detects 6 workout modes. These auto-detecting activities include indoor/outdoor running, rowing, elliptical and indoor/outdoor walking.
Other Features
The Huawei Watch GT 2e is equipped with 16MB memory and 4GB storage capacity. The user can store up to 500 songs and could stream the playlist using wireless earbuds over Bluetooth 5.1. GLONASS and an active GPS tracker ensure accurate data so that you can work out without worrying about your positioning.
Huawei has also added a blood oxygen saturation level monitoring tracker (SPO2) that works using a dedicated IR sensor. Moreover, the company has also upgraded the heart rate sensor, sleep patterns, stress levels, and music playback options.
Battery
The GT 2e smartwatch comes with a two weeks-long battery life. However, this is only possible when the usage is minimum, and you don’t use it constantly for GPS measuring or to track heart rate.
Verdict
Huawei has really worked to make the GT 2e watch better than its predecessors. Sporty design and looks make the watch ideal for athletes, whereas its dazzling features ensure you get most out of the workout. Its 455mAh battery can keep the watch alive for up to two weeks so the user won’t have to undergo battery anxiety. Overall, this is a decent watch with great features and an athletic built design.
